Early in the morning we meet at your accomodation in Puerto Varas and we will head on direction to the mountains. After 45 Km. on a paved road, we reach Ensenada, located at the entrance of the park. We will continue bordering Lake Llanquihue, now heading north towards the town of cascadas, after we pass Las Cascadas, we will start climbing on the way to the trail head, wich is located in the north entry of the national park.

After a 18 km ride throught some traditional farms we will get to the entry of the park in the area of La Picada. Paso desolación is and old mountain pass. The trail that crosses the Osorno Volcano from the small town of Puerto Clocker located at the shore of Llanquihue Lake, to Petrohué at Todos Los Santos Lake.

This is a total hike of 18 km, with some ups and downs, after we reach the highest point 1.000 mts, we will have and amazing view of Volcan Tronador and cerro La Picada, this volcanic scenery gives the impresion of walking on the moon.

After a few hours, we will stop for lunch in a view point with great views of the lake and the biggest mountains. The rest of the hike goes downhill until we reach the Lake Todos los Santos and Petrohue, where we wil meet our vehicle to drive back to Puerto Varas.
